Lamar win going away against Magnolia Heights

The Lamar Raiders fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Magnolia Heights with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-20.

Lamar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Bond, who threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Kellen Kerley was another key contributor, rushing for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

Lamar's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for Magnolia Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Lamar will square off against Copiah Academy at TBD on Friday. Copiah Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Magnolia Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
