Softball Recap: Southeastern Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southeastern proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Fairfield Lions 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 24th.

Kylie Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jade Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Southeastern's third in a row) raised their record to 12-14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-6.

Southeastern and Fairfield are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will face off against Wellston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Rockets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Southeastern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairfield, they will welcome Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
