Basketball Recap: Esperanza Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

On Friday, the Esperanza Aztecs didn't have too much trouble with the Pacifica Mariners as they won 63-45.

Alex Van Otterloo was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 13 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fries, who posted 15 points.

Esperanza's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7. As for Pacifica, they moved to 14-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Esperanza didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-33 victory against El Modena on the 14th. As for Pacifica, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-43 win against Sunny Hills on the 14th.
