First Baptist School extended their postseason success on Friday against Northwood Academy. They secured a 64-60 W over the Chargers. Winning may never get old, but the Hurricanes sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Northwood Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maliyah Birch, who posted 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Her big performance that evening made it 24 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Bates, who shot 67% from the field en route to 13 points.
First Baptist School's victory bumped their record up to 24-12. As for Northwood Academy, they moved to 28-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.
