Wapakoneta is 8-2 against Kenton since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Redskins will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wapakoneta has seven straight victories, Kenton has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Wapakoneta beats Kenton with 42 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Redskins took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Shawnee. Considering the Redskins have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wapakoneta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Moyer, who rushed for 71 yards and two scores, and also threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Moyer has posted since back in October of 2024. Jarrett Mullen was another key player, gaining 133 total yards.
Wapakoneta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Guy Kohlrieser and Kaden Page.
Meanwhile, Kenton fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Defiance on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Kenton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Xavier Gammon threw for 408 yards and three TDs while completing 77.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score. A healthy portion of Gammon's aerial production (120 yards to be exact) went to Maddux McFarlin.
Wapakoneta's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Kenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything went Wapakoneta's way against Kenton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Wapakoneta made off with a 42-21 win. Will the Redskins repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
