Recap: San Isidro Tigers vs. San Perlita Trojans
After flying high against the Bruni Badgers last Friday, the San Isidro Tigers came back down to earth. The matchup between San Isidro and San Perlita wasn't particularly close, with San Isidro falling 66-51. San Isidro lost against San Perlita in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 87-51 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why San Isidro lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Edward Garcia. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Larry Ramos, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
San Isidro struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are 1-3 when they just don't pass the ball.
San Isidro dropped their record down to 11-20 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely San Perlita, McMullen County, and Lasara. As for San Perlita, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
San Isidro will be playing at home against Lasara at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully San Isidro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for San Perlita, they will head out on the road to face off against McMullen County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Perlita knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully McMullen County likes a good challenge.
