Softball Game Preview: Murray Mustangs vs. Diagonal Maroons

Murray has gone a perfect 10-0 against Diagonal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mustangs will host the Maroons at 5:30 p.m. Murray's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Diagonal's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Murray is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Diagonal came up short against Twin Cedars on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Maroons have struggled against the Sabers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The win made it two in a row for Murray and bumps their season record up to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Diagonal, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Murray got the 'W' when the teams last played on June 1st against Diagonal by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
