Soccer Game Preview: Spring vs. MacArthur

Spring is 0-6 against MacArthur since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Spring Lions will venture away from home to face off against the MacArthur Generals at 5:45 p.m.

Spring is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Eisenhower on Monday. Spring fell just short of Eisenhower by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, MacArthur had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mustangs.

MacArthur hit Aldine with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Madisson Duran, Galilahi Pena, and Joselin Gonzalez.

MacArthur's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four contests. As for Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Spring suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to MacArthur when the teams last played back in January. Can Spring avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
