Basketball Recap: New Caney Takes a Loss

New Caney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 99-23 loss at the hands of The Woodlands Highlanders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-25 back in January.

The Woodlands' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Pino, who went 9 for 15 en route to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Pino has posted since back in December of 2024. Isa Alaniz was another key player, going 8 of 12 on her way to 18 points and six steals.

New Caney's defeat dropped their record down to 6-27. As for The Woodlands, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-10.

As of now, neither New Caney nor The Woodlands have any future games scheduled.
