Baseball Game Preview: Fletcher Wildcats vs. Hinton Comets

The Fletcher Wildcats will square off against the Hinton Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Fletcher knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Hinton likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Fletcher beat Blair 11-6. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.

Rayce Stoll was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Fletcher is undefeated when Stoll posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-11 otherwise. Morgan Harrington was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hinton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Southwest Covenant.

Hinton's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Fletcher, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.

Fletcher skirted past Hinton 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2017. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
