Basketball Recap: Kern Valley Broncs vs. California City Ravens

Kern Valley lost against California City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kern Valley Broncs had to suffer through an 89-51 loss at the hands of the California City Ravens. The Broncs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Broncs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zane Carver, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. Carver has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Galvan, who posted 16 points and three blocks.

California City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown out in front who shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. DeShawn 'Pocket Magic' Elizalde was another key player, putting up 19 points and eight steals.

Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for California City, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.
