Mt. Pulaski lost to Riverton back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hilltoppers had just enough and edged out the Hawks 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hilltoppers.

Mt. Pulaski had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Mt. Pulaski's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Riverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pulaski will head out to challenge Dunlap at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Riverton, they will square off against North Mac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
