Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Christian's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Santa Fe Christian dropped their record down to 11-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of Maranatha Christian by a score of 8-7. Santa Fe Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Maranatha Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Noah Joseph was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Sam Carney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Maranatha Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-18. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch.

On Maranatha Christian's side, Evan Wied was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Wied a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Ruiz, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two doubles.

While Santa Fe Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
