Baseball Game Preview: Stewarts Creek Red Hawks vs. Nolensville Knights

Stewarts Creek is a perfect 3-0 against Nolensville since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Red Hawks will face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Stewarts Creek will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Stewarts Creek proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Coffee County Central 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Hawks have posted since March 25th.

Tyler Sallee looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Huskey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Nolensville and Summit meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Knights came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 4-1.

Nolensville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Stewarts Creek, they pushed their record up to 16-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Everything went Stewarts Creek's way against Nolensville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Stewarts Creek made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
