Recap: LaFayette Ramblers vs. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors
The LaFayette Ramblers can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 34-21 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. LaFayette pushed the score to 34-9 by the end of the third, a deficit Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe cut but never quite recovered from.
Khalas Finley had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Finley's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Dawson Pendergrass and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in LaFayette's win.
LaFayette's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Cody Davis and his two sacks.
Despite the loss, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe still got an impressive performance from Tamoris Johnson, who rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns.
LaFayette's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaFayette will take on Coahulla Creek at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Coahulla Creek is ranked 318th, while LaFayette is ranked 337th). As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will head out on the road to face off against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Ringgold is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
