Football Recap: Normal University Pioneers vs. Rochester Rockets
If Normal University was riding high fresh off their 47-0 takedown of Lincoln last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pioneers had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of the Rochester Rockets. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Owen Kirby threw for 103 yards and one touchdown. Braden Bozarth was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards.
Tanner Beal had an outrageously good game for Rochester as he threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. What's more, Beal posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Eli Cox also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Normal University now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Rochester, their record is now 4-1.
Normal University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-0 defeat against Glenwood on the 3rd. As for Rochester, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-24 victory against Decatur Eisenhower on the 3rd.
