Soccer Game Preview: Van Buren vs. Katahdin

The Van Buren Crusaders will take on the Katahdin Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Van Buren fell victim to Wisdom and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 5-0 to the Pioneers. While losing is never fun, Van Buren can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Wisdom are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Katahdin kept a clean sheet against Ashland on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Hornets. Fans of Katahdin have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Van Buren now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Katahdin, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
