Preview: Folsom Bulldogs vs. St. Bonaventure Seraphs
The Folsom Bulldogs will face off against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Folsom comes in on nine and St. Bonaventure on five.
Folsom had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pittsburg on Saturday and snuck past 28-25.
Folsom found their leader in underclassman Ryder Lyons, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 191 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. Lyons has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
St. Augustine typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday St. Bonaventure proved too difficult a challenge. St. Bonaventure slipped by St. Augustine 21-20.
Koen Glover was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 50 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was St. Bonaventure's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Matt Perez and his two sacks.
Folsom's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for St. Bonaventure, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
