Baseball Recap: Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Valley got themselves on the board against Eufaula on Thursday, but Eufaula never followed suit. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three contests in a row.

Matthew McDonald made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Mason Yarbrough was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Eufaula, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will face off against Reeltown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eufaula, they will take on Harris County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Harris County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
