Basketball Recap: Republic County Comes Up Short

Republic County lost against Lyons back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Republic County Buffaloes took a hard 64-50 fall against the Lyons Lions. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Lions are ranked 123rd).

Republic County dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lyons, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Republic County will challenge Ellsworth on Friday. As for Lyons, they will square off against Sacred Heart on Tuesday.
