Softball Recap: Presque Isle's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Presque Isle dropped their record down to 5-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 15-5 to the Ellsworth Eagles. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 16-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Ellsworth, their record is now 4-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Ellsworth's part, Maddie Damon and Mya Schildroth did most of the damage at the plate: Damon went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Schildroth went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those runs were Damon's first of the season.

While Presque Isle had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
