Softball Game Preview: Ninety Six Wildcats vs. Ware Shoals Hornets

The Ninety Six Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ware Shoals took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ninety Six, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ninety Six challenged Pelion on Tuesday. Ninety Six blew past Pelion 17-2. The Wildcats have beaten the Panthers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Ware Shoals' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 17-7 to Abbeville.

Paisley Pelfrey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Ninety Six's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Ware Shoals, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything went Ninety Six's way against Ware Shoals when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Ninety Six made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ninety Six since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
