Softball Recap: Santa Fe Finds Home Field Redemption Against Friendswood

There's no place like home for Santa Fe, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Friendswood Mustangs by a score of 5-1 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Mallory Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katelynn Torres, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelyne Baulis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Santa Fe's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12.
