Soccer Recap: Williston Takes a Loss

Williston entered their matchup against P.K. Yonge on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Williston Red Devils might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave an easy 6-0 win. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Red Devils it sure didn't stay that way.

Williston's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1. As for P.K. Yonge, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

After both having extra time off, Williston and Episcopal School of Jacksonville will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for P.K. Yonge, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakeland Christian at 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Lakeland Christian is on a three-game streak of home wins, P.K. Yonge a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
