Baseball Recap: Mt. Rainier Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Mt. Rainier hadn't done well against Kentridge recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Chargers 4-3. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jack Fenton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Fenton was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Fenton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Genzale, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mt. Rainier's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8. As for Kentridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5-1.

Mt. Rainier will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
