Football Game Preview: Fallston Cougars vs. Joppatowne Mariners + Official Tickets

The Fallston Cougars will square off against the Joppatowne Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fallston is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Fallston will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Bel Air, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars snuck past the Bobcats with a 21-15 victory on Friday.

Michael Griffin produced another solid performance rushing for 191 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 143 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. A healthy portion of Griffin's aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Brody Reina.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fallston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Joppatowne didn't have too much trouble with Rising Sun on Friday as they won 34-20.

Fallston's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Joppatowne, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Fallston couldn't quite get it done against Joppatowne in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as they fell 36-28. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
