Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. East Providence Townies

The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the East Providence Townies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Lincoln fell victim to Bishop Hendricken and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 1-0.

Jon-Luca Feole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Providence). Everything went their way against Cranston East on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Townies in their matchups with the Thunderbolts: they've now won four in a row.

Kyle Desrosiers and Timothy Robitaille made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Desrosiers struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Robitaille struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Desrosiers went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Robitaille got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Robitaille has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Max Correiro was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Dicecco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

East Providence's record now sits at 7-2. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
