Basketball Game Preview: Central City Value Jaguars vs. USC-MAE Trojans

For the first time this season, Central City Value will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the USC-MAE Trojans at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Central City Value took a 42-point loss the last time they faced off against Stern, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over the Titans two weeks ago. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since January 17th.

Central City Value had a senior duo take command as Brandon Magdato dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds and Andy Lobos posted 25 points and six boards. Magdato's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Jacob Pacas was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, USC-MAE didn't have too much trouble with West Adams on Monday as they won 62-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

USC-MAE's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Central City Value, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.

Central City Value ended up a good deal behind USC-MAE in their previous matchup back in February, losing 68-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Trojans' Adrion Gilbert, who had 36 points. Now that the Jaguars know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
