Softball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Fremont blew Fairfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Fairfield got their revenge. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Fremont saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Meyers, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another was Chloe Verdin, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Fairfield, their record now sits at 11-6.

Looking ahead, Fremont will host Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Cadets at the right time seeing as the Cadets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fairfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
