Softball Recap: Biddeford Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Biddeford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Westbrook Blue Blazes on Wednesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Corinne Ramunno was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Mariah Villandry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Biddeford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Biddeford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westbrook, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biddeford will take on Bonny Eagle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scots have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Westbrook, they will be playing at home against Windham at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
