Baseball Recap: Lumberton Comes Up Short

Lumberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scotland Fighting Scots. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Scots from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Lumberton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Claar, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Claar has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lumberton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Scotland, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Lumberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scotland, they will be taking part in a tournament against Purnell Swett at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
