Basketball Recap: Otis Piles Up the Points Against Haxtun

A well-balanced attack led Otis over Haxtun in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Otis Bulldogs blew the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs out of the water with a 68-39 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 29 points or more this season.

Otis was led to victory by Charlie Kendrick and Grady Bechtle. Kendrick dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists, while Bechtle dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Bechtle a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cambric Klinzmann, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 12 points and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Otis was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Haxtun only racked up 12 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Haxtun lost, don't look at Ryland Wolff. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 boards. Madden Larsen was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Otis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Haxtun, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-5.

Otis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-41 win against Idalia on the 17th. Haxtun has also already played their next contest, a 63-54 loss against Peetz on the 17th.
