Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakland). They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Teays Valley Vikings on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Andrew Carver made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oakland is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9-1 otherwise. Carver was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since March 4th.

In other batting news, Oakland got a massive performance out of Kris Richardson, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Richardson a new career-high in RBI (three). Asher Evans was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Oakland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oakland's win bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Teays Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Oakland will host Saint Ignatius College Prep at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Teays Valley, they will be playing at home against Briarcrest Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Briarcrest Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Teays Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
