Basketball Recap: McLeod Comes Up Short

McLeod lost against Hawkins back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The McLeod Longhorns were beaten by the Hawkins Hawks 56-18. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1176th, while the Hawks are ranked 295th).

This is the second loss in a row for McLeod and nudges their season record down to 12-16. As for Hawkins, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1.

When McLeod and Hawkins next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. McLeod will try to stop Harleton's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hawkins will square off against Union Grove and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
