Basketball Recap: KEYSHAWN NESBITT Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

The Resurrection Catholic Eagles earned a 67-57 win over the Long Beach Bearcats on Saturday.

Resurrection Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KEYSHAWN NESBITT, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten steals. The matchup was NESBITT's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was SIMEON BALLARD, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Resurrection Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Long Beach's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donovan Magee, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 21 points and four steals. Magee has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Smith, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Resurrection Catholic's record is now 5-3. As for Long Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Resurrection Catholic will venture away from home to challenge St. Patrick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Fighting Irish at the right time seeing as the Fighting Irish are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Long Beach, they will head out on the road to take on Pascagoula at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
