Basketball Recap: East Granby Takes a Loss

East Granby lost against Coventry back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The East Granby Crusaders took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coventry Patriots.

Coventry was led to victory by Reese Jeamel and Hailey Mayo. Jeamel posted 11 points along with seven boards and six blocks, while Mayo dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Those six blocks gave Jeamel a new career-high.

East Granby has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. The victory (which was Coventry's fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

East Granby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coventry, they will challenge Suffield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coventry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
