Softball Recap: Seven Rivers Christian Comes Up Short

Seven Rivers Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seffner Christian Crusaders. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Seffner Christian's batters probably weren't too happy with Natalee Tidwell, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up eight walks). Tidwell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seven Rivers Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Luider, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Luider is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Seven Rivers Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Seffner Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Seven Rivers Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-0 loss against Bronson on the 20th. As for Seffner Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Foundation Christian Academy on the 25th.
