Basketball Game Preview: Williamson Lions vs. Mobile Christian Leopards

Having just played yesterday, the Williamson Lions will jump right back in to play the Mobile Christian Leopards at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mobile Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Williamson, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Williamson beat Ocean Springs 41-34. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 333rd in Alabama, while the Greyhounds are ranked 84th in Mississippi).

Williamson found their leader in sophomore Paydon Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. That's the most steals Davis has posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Mobile Christian lost 78-57 to Bryant on Tuesday. The Leopards have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Williamson's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Mobile Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Williamson was able to grind out a solid win over Mobile Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 42-34. Does Williamson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mobile Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
