Softball Recap: Ponaganset Takes a Loss

Ponaganset managed to slip by Coventry the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chieftains came up short against the Oakers on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Chieftains were not able to get on the board.

Ponaganset saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyla Angell, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Ponaganset and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Coventry, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Ponaganset wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-3 defeat against Chariho on the 24th. As for Coventry, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 victory against Pilgrim on the 24th.
