Softball Recap: DeLand Comes Up Short

If DeLand was feeling good fresh off their 23-3 takedown of Atlantic last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 10-1 to the Innovation Bulls on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulls earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

DeLand saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyanne Gosselin, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Gosselin hit this season.

The defeat snapped DeLand's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record. As for Innovation, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

DeLand wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-0 loss against Forest on the 2nd. As for Innovation, they have also already played their next contest, a 22-2 win against Freedom on the 4th.
