Basketball Game Preview: Altamont Longhorns vs. Tabiona Tigers

Altamont is 2-8 against Tabiona since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Altamont Longhorns will face off against the Tabiona Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Altamont is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a hard 61-43 fall against Tintic.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Briggs Wall, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breyden Jessen, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Altamont was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Tabiona entered their tilt with Duchesne on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 58-56.

Tabiona has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Things could have been worse for Altamont, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-55 loss to Tabiona in their previous meeting on January 8th. Can Altamont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
