Baseball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Camarillo Scorpions, falling 10-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost three in a row.

Mason Trigo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Alonzo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Camarillo, their record is now 4-9.

Buena and Camarillo could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Buena will take on Thousand Oaks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday down 339 places (446 vs. 107). Meanwhile, Camarillo (ranked 683rd) will meet Moorpark (ranked 324th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
