Softball Game Preview: Chester Hambletonians vs. Wallkill Panthers

The Chester Hambletonians will venture away from home to face off against the Wallkill Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chester has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Wallkill will come in with five straight wins.

On Monday, Chester didn't have quite enough to beat Beacon and fell 7-6.

Meanwhile, Wallkill narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Red Hook 3-1.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Allessandro, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Wallkill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.

Wallkill's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
