Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Barnegat's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Barnegat had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Shore Regional on Thursday. The Bengals put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Bengals have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Barnegat is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shore Regional, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Barnegat wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-1 victory against Liberty on the 9th. As for Shore Regional, they will square off against Manalapan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
