Football Recap: Williams Takes a Loss

Williams had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They fell 21-13 to the Quincy Trojans. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 38-16 to the Trojans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Williams still got an impressive performance from Ricardo Medina, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Matthew Cervantes helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

As for Quincy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4. That looming 21-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Quincy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Rich, who rushed for 87 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 167 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. Rich didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Quincy's leading receiver Anthony Warndorf was Rich's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score.

Williams didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-22 loss against Biggs on the 31st. As for Quincy, they have also already played their next game, a 25-13 defeat against Los Molinos on the 31st.
