Baseball Recap: Dougherty Valley Takes a Loss

Dougherty Valley managed to slip by Livermore the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Dougherty Valley came up short against Livermore on Friday, falling 6-0. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Dougherty Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Bryant Policar, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Policar snagged this season.

Dougherty Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Livermore, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dougherty Valley will challenge San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Ramon Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Dougherty Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Livermore, they will square off against Dublin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Livermore 3.1, Dublin 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
