Volleyball Game Preview: Western Branch Bruins vs. Landstown Eagles + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Western Branch Bruins and the Landstown Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Western Branch came up short against Menchville on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Western Branch was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-18, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Landstown waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Chiefs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Chiefs since October 5, 2021.

Landstown wouldn't go down easily and took Kempsville into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 15-8.

Landstown's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Western Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Western Branch skirted past Landstown 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
