Football Recap: Piper Takes a Loss

Piper lost against Coconut Creek back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bengals were beaten by the Cougars 33-6.

Maksim Steuber threw for 87 yards on 11 of 24 attempts. Wade Thompson was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Jahnard Young rushed for 79 yards and one TD.

Coconut Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Delions, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. Another back making a difference was Jordan Thompson, who gained 125 total yards and a touchdown.

Piper's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Coconut Creek, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Piper wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-21 win against South Plantation on the 5th. As for Coconut Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-16 victory against Western on the 5th.
