Baseball Recap: LEE Comes Up Short

LEE had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-8-1 to make it five. They lost 10-2 to the Brandeis Broncos. The Volunteers were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

LEE saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Matos, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Brandeis, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games.

On Brandeis' side, Tanner Hallmark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Hallmark has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nate McCarty was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Meurett, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

While LEE had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
