Basketball Recap: Kellam Skates Past Landstown with Ease

Kellam won against Bayside last Tuesday with 85 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Kellam Knights claimed a resounding 85-41 win over the Landstown Eagles. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kellam to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caroline Casady, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Casady is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Kate Spain, who went 9 for 11 en route to 21 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Kellam and bumps their season record up to 12-1. As for Landstown, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Kellam will head out to face off against First Colonial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellam is facing First Colonial at the right time seeing as First Colonial is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Landstown, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Landstown Eagles face off against the Cox Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
